Happy New School Year! September 2, 2017
Dear Children's Garden Families,
It is always with much excitement that we begin our new school year. We have spent the summer catching up on our family time, visiting with friends and thinking of new ways to enrich the lives of the young people we spend our mornings with. We are honored that you have chosen the Children's Garden for your child's earliest educational experiences and we hope that this will be a learning and growing experience for you as their parents. Please feel free to come to us at anytime with questions or concerns as we want to build a relationship with all of your families over the coming school year.
Please look for a weekly update under the blog tab entitled "Growth in the Children's Garden". It is here that you will find a summary of the happenings at school each week. These updates can serve as a springboard for conversations with your children and can give you a sampling of the learning, growing and social interactions that are happening at school each day. This is also the place for weekly reminders and exciting things coming in the week ahead.
Please spend a minute to read the articles under the "You're gonna love this" tab under the "Parents" section of the site. There is useful information here about starting pre-school, the importance of play and how to build a supportive community as well as the importance of that community for your children. I have added a few things to the "Resources" tab of the site as well. Here you'll find books that Cathy and I have read many times over the years. These titles are some of the most useful parenting resources around and we hope they can serve as a guide for you when you hit some of the bumps we all hit in our parenting journey. Talk to us and to each other about these books and articles. They are the springboard for great conversations about parenting!
We look forward to reconnecting with our returning families and getting to know those of you who are new.
Happy new school year!
Sandi Hill and Cathy Bailey
